Applications for The Salvation Army Angel Tree begins Monday, October 2

Lynchburg, VA (September 28, 2017) – The Salvation Army of Greater Lynchburg will begin taking applications for Angel Tree gift assistance beginning Mon., Oct. 2. Individuals can apply in person at The Salvation Army Corps Community Center located at 2215 Park Avenue. Sign-ups will take place the first two weeks of Oct., Mon. through Fri., 9 am -12 pm and 1 pm -3 pm daily. Please visit salvationarmylynchburg.org or The Salvation Army of Lynchburg Facebook page for a list of requirements needed at the time of application.

The Angel Tree Program for the Salvation Army began in Lynchburg, VA in 1979 and has since expanded into an international movement providing gifts to children whose families are financially struggling during the Christmas season. Last year, more than 4,000 needy children and elderly living in the communities of Lynchburg, Bedford, Amherst, Appomattox, Campbell and Nelson County received new gifts and clothing as a result of this program

Volunteer opportunities are available during the months of November and December to help with the Angel Tree program. If you would like more information on how you can help by volunteering, please visit the Salvation Army's website or call 434-845-5939. Individuals who volunteer to help with the Angel Tree program are not eligible for application for assistance through the Angel Tree program.
