Lynchburg, VA – The Salvation Army of Greater Lynchburg welcomes Majors Caleb and Rebeca Prieto and Lt. Mark E Craddock as officers of the Lynchburg Corps. The majors have held many leadership roles with The Salvation Army most recently serving in Daytona Beach, FL, with Lt. Craddock most recently serving in Fredericksburg, VA.  Both the Prietos and Lt. Craddock descend from a long line of Salvation Army officers who have served in national as well as international appointments spanning several generations.

Major Caleb and Rebeca have been officers for 28 years and bring extensive experience in community service to the Lynchburg Corps. During their time in leadership, the Prietos have worked in several programs such as domestic violence, drug treatment, veterans assistance, transitional housing – men's, women's and family shelters – community feeding, disaster relief, family (thrift) stores, youth enrichment and corrections and post release programs. "We are excited to be called to serve in such a beautiful area of our country," stated Major Prieto. "Rebeca, Mark and I are enthusiastic about becoming a part of the Greater Lynchburg community and continuing to grow the important work that has been done for 115 years by The Salvation Army locally."

Majors Caleb and Rebeca attended college in Cuba, as well as Evangeline Booth College in Atlanta, GA. Lt. Mark received his degree from Asbury College with a focus on recreational activities and ministries, which supports his love of the outdoors and passion for camp ministries. In addition, the majors have two daughters, one grandchild and another on the way and will celebrate their 37th wedding anniversary later this year.

Majors Prieto and Lt. Craddock replace Captain's Trey and Sheri Jones and Lt. Kathy Paladino who have been called to serve in Mobile, Al and Fredericksburg, VA, respectively.

The Salvation Army of Greater Lynchburg serves Lynchburg, Amherst, Appomattox, Bedford, Campbell and Nelson counties and has been part of the community for more than 115 years.
